Second Chances

Have you ever had a shirt that you never wore but couldn't get rid of it because it had some kind of sentimental value?  I struggle with this too and I found a solution that works for me: reuse and recycle!  I have come across two different ways that can relieve your closet without throwing out old memories.

1. Tshirt Quilt
Instead of throwing out your old club, vacation, or concert shirts, make a quilt with the shirts so you can snuggle up with the old memories and clear out your drawers as well.  I am still in the midst of completing this project but here is my progress so far:
This shirt includes all of my favorite concerts and the different destinations I visited on the many cruises that my family enjoyed.  I never wore these shirts and a part of me was sad to let them go to waste, but now they will be more use to me than they ever were before!

2. Tshirt pillow
I always loved the movie series "Avengers" but the shirt that I bought was always goofy looking and I was embarrassed to wear it around on campus.  Now that I have converted it into a pillow, it is a classic piece on my bed that comforts me when I snuggle up to watch the movies on my laptop.

If I discover any other tricks or if you have any awesome ideas on how to recycle old tshirts, just email snatalie06@gmail.com and I will put your ideas in the next post!

FASHION TRICKS
I have always love love loved! the idea of being a fashion designer mostly because growing up, I always wanted to make my own clothing (literally).  I would always cut my clothes up and try to sow everything by hand (totally exhausting) and this made my mom furious.  After botching a couple (more like 20 shirts) she told me that I wouldn't get new clothes if I continued down this path.  Well, it's a flash from the past but this time I think it came out well!

Now look at the improvements I made!
I think it came out pretty well... But you can let me know by emailing snatalie06@gmail.com whether you preferred the first edition or the second!
